Chief Instructor Kirby Tucker has over
35 years of martial arts training and has
actively trained in over 20 different fighting
arts from Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines,
Japan,France, Indonesia, Korea, China and
the United States.
He has a direct instructor lineage to Bruce
Lee. He is a Certified Senior Full Instructor
in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Martial Arts with
Progressive Fighting Systems (PFS). He is certified under Paul Vunak and Shahram Moosavi. He is personally trained and certified in (RBPP) Reality Based Personal Protection training by counter-terrorist Special Agent for the United States Government, Sgt. Jim Wagner.
Kirby began training in Tae Kwon Do at
the age of 14. He earned his Black Belt in
this art at the age of 19. He went on to
study Tien Shan Pai Kung Fu and Jujitsu.
Realizing the limitations of traditional
martial arts and understanding the
complexity of street fighting, he began
searching for more practical self-defense
training. This desire was created from
violent experiences on and off the street.
When the opportunity presented itself to
engage in several full contact rounds with
an experienced Kali and JKD practitioner,
his eyes were forever opened to the power,
effectiveness and efficiency of Bruce Lee’s
strategies.
From the moment of his JKD experience
he pursued his studies of JKD vigorously.
This pursuit included training and discussing
the philosophy of JKD with original students
of Bruce Lee such as Ted Wong, Joe Lewis
and Dan Inosanto.
Kirby’s background includes: Bruce Lee’s
Jeet Kune Do, Thai boxing, Kina Mutai, RBPP,
Filipino Martial Arts, RBPP,Brazilian Jiu-jitsu,
Special ForcesDefensive Tactics, and various
Edged weapons.
Kirby and Dan Inosanto, the legendary
Bruce Lee protégée and only person to
receive instructor rank from Sifu Lee.
